Furacure (PFA)
A new generation of poly-furfural alcohol “PFA” bio-based polymers derived from biomass.
These resins can be used as a matrix resin in a variety of applications including advanced composites.
Furacure has a moderate-high viscosity. These grades are typically accelerated through the use of strong acidic catalysts with cured material exhibiting the thermal performance and FST values associated with these systems.
PFA resins offer excellent thermal performance and are inherently fire resistant.
The key properties include:
- REACH compliant polymer
- Low residual monomer levels
- Bio based grade
- High thermal performance
FURACURE R 416
Characterised by moderate-high viscosity. This grade is generally catalysed by strong acidic catalysts with cured material exhibiting the thermal performance and FST values associated with these systems. This grade is offered for hot-melt processing.
FURACURE R 433 J70
Characterised by low viscosity and moderate solids content. This grade is generally catalysed by strong acidic catalysts with cured material exhibiting the thermal performance and FST values associated with these systems. This grade is offered for solvated processing.
