Curabox
Flame retardant thermoset resins.
Curabox is a family of flame retardant thermoset resins which push the boundaries of Benzoxazine chemistry.
With high service temperatures and excellent mechanical and electrical properties, Curabox performs well over prolonged periods in difficult working environments. Its high-performance characteristics and endurance to mechanical and chemical attack, make it extremely suitable for the manufacture of long service composite components.
Applications include primary and secondary structures for aerospace, or frames, body panels and structural reinforcements on trains, buses, trucks and cars.
Curabox polymers can be used as an alternative to our phenolic, epoxy, vinyl ester and other polymer matrix systems. The material group is characterised by the absence of volatile matter generated curing cure which contributes to low shrinkage and good dimensional stability.
Benzoxazine polymers are latent materials which have long ambient temperature shelf-lives and require high temperature for reaction and cure.
We have several grades offered in their original form and we also offer grades supplied in a pre-solvated form for convenient use when processed through impregnation towers.
Curabox is the result of a Pan-European project – in partnership with a leading European materials research and development centre – Materia Nova
