Bitrez expands presence in USA with appointment of Dr Shahid Qureshi as Technical Specialist for North America
Bitrez Ltd, Europe’s leading manufacturer of specialist polymers and chemicals, has expanded its presence in the USA with the appointment of Dr Shahid Quershi as Technical Specialist for North America.
Dr Quershi has more than 35 years’ experience of working within high performance composites, including 27 years as a Senior Research Scientist at Georgia Pacific Chemicals.
With a career that’s taken him around the globe, Dr Quershi has a degree in organic chemistry from Government College University Pakistan, a Post Grad diploma in Polymer Chemistry from Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan and a PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania USA. To add to these accolades, he has over 15 patents and 10 publications to his name.
Dr Quershi appointment comes hot on the heels of the announcement last week that Bitrez has appointed Georgia-Pacific Chemicals as exclusive distributor for its Curaphen speciality phenolics across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Dr Qureshi said: “After 35 years at the top of my game, the thought of approaching retirement didn’t exactly fill me with me with glee as I’m not one to stay at home and watch TV all day! When the opportunity arose to champion Bitrez in the USA, I couldn’t’ say no. I’d heard of them during my days at Georgia Pacific, so I knew the calibre of their chemistry. I’m delighted to have joined Bitrez and am very excited about what the future holds!”
Dr Qureshi will be attending SAMPE in May in North Carolina and CAMX 2019 in California in September.
